सदिखन तँ दुनिया सताबैत रहल
हमरा किछो नै बताबैत रहल
Every time people gave me torment
Proving me a dud was so vehement 

ओ पीचि घाओ करेजाक हमर
ठुमरीसँ महफिल सजाबैत रहल
Pressing my wounds of my hearts
She kept dancing wearing ornament

सोंगर बना ओकरा ठाढ़ छलौं
हमरा सदति ओ खसाबैत रहल
With whom support I tried to stand
He always let me fall and went

बाजा बना सब बजाबैत रहल
छी ढोल पिपही बनल लोक सभक
Whom everybody came and played
I was such a musical instrument

खसलौं नजरिमे कते बेर अपन
हमरा कियो नै उठाबैत रहल.
And words of support nobody lent.
I fell in self esteem again and again.

Introduction of the poet- Sri Om Prakash Jha is a well known for  his Maithili gazals (poems). He has adopted the style of 'gazal' which has come of age and is quite popular in Maithili literature since many decades. His gazals express mainly the helplessness and dilemma faced by a common man of today. One collection of Maithili gazals in title of "Kiyo Bujhi nahi sakal hamara" has been published and another is in pipeline. He works as an IRS in a Central Govt office.

कवि का परिचय- श्री ओम प्रकाश झा अपनी मैथिली गजलों (कविताओं) के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। उन्होंने गज़ल ’की शैली को अपनाया है  कई दशकों से मैथिली साहित्य में काफी लोकप्रिय है एक अत्यंत परिपक्व विधा है। इन्होने विशेष रूप से आज के एक आम आदमी से दो चार होनेवाली बेबसी और दुविधा का चित्रण किया है। "कियो बुझि नहि सकल हमरा" के नाम से मैथिली गजलों का एक संग्रह प्रकाशित हुआ है और दूसरा तैयारी में है। ये भारतीय राजस्व सेवा के सदस्य हैं।
