In my dark and cloudy days
I thought always for sunshine
Seasons coming seasons going
I saw lovingly 
each in its way
Enchanting for me
I felt every season in my heart

अपने काले धूमिल दिनों में 
मैंने हमेशा उजाले के बारे में सोचा 
मौसम आते हैं मौसम जाते हैं
मैंने बड़े प्यार से उसी रूप में उसे सम्मोहित हो अनुभूत किया 
सारे मौसम को मैंने अपने हृदय में उसी तरह महसूसा  

In the lap of 
Troubles and worries I was
Thinking for the days fine
All things
Going roughly badly
You on your grief bed
Fighting with life 
Toughly
But a flame of eternal love
Always burnt 
In my heart
Things will be the best

की गोद में मैं 
अच्छे दिनों के आने की सोचती रही

I traveled long and long 
On the hard road of my mind 
That took me to you
मैं दूर दूर तक अपने मानस के कठोर पथ पर 
चलती गई जो मुझे तुम तक ले गयी 

And there was the end
 I was lost 
Alone I was 
और उस अंत तक पहुँच मैं खो गई

In the jungle of this world
When the rain drops fall on my

दुनिया के बियावान जंगल में 
जब वर्षा की बूंदे 
मेरी पलकों पर आस्ते से गिरती हैं 
मुझे तुम्हारे प्यार से भरे चुम्बन का
एहसास होता है 
जब भी शीतल बयार प्यार से मुझे 
स्पर्श करती है 
ऐसा लगता है तुम जोरों से 
अपने आलिंगन में भर रहे हो

My Village

Whenever I come back to my village
The village and only the village
Sits in my mind
On the edge of the wide 'makhana' leaf
In the tossing of 'karmi' vines
Swaying at the border of the moonlit night
In the midst of endless natural beauty.
जब भी मैं अपने गाँव आती हूँ 
अपना  गाँव और सिर्फ अपना गाँव 
मेरे मन में विराजमान रहता है 
मखाना के विस्तृत पत्तों पर 
करमी की उछलती लताओं पर 
चांदनी वाली रात की सीमा पर लहराते हुए 
असीम सौंदर्य के साथ 

Sitting here on the banks of a canal
I sing in the midst of struggle
A song of life
And weave a honeyed dream.
यहाँ एक नहर के किनारे पर बैठे हुए
मैं गाती हूँ संघर्ष को झेलती हुई 
एक जीवन संगीत
और बुनती हूँ एक मधुर स्वप्न.

In the monsoon, drenched
In summer bathed in the heat of sun
Huddled up in winter
During the panchayat elections,
Turning over it's side
Squabbling and bickering
In harmony and balance
Blossoming and ripening

मानसून में भींगा हुआ 
ग्रीष्म में सूर्यताप से खंगाला हुआ
पंचायत के चुनाव के समय
शीत ऋतु में चहलकदमियों का केंद्र
अपने रंग बदलता हुआ 
झगड़े और तकरार के बावजूद
एक संतुलन और लय के साथ

A brief survey of works of Dr. Shefalika Verma

(A part of this para is in Hindi) Main Naari hun, Hawa hun, Janmadin ho ya Karwa chauth, ya Phir wahi ghar Main aati rahungi Yadon ke rakt phul ki tarah. Log kahte hain der bahut kar aaye. Tumhi ne kaha tha Satya ki khoj athwa Sabhyata ka marg durgam hai, Mukti ka khwab na dekho, bus Budha bargad ne mukti paa liya — vatsalya ras ka ashirwad dekar. The above mentioned sentences reflect the life and philosophy of our great mother Dr. Shefalika Verma.

Her Major Works:
1. She was awarded Sahitya Akademi Award in 2012 for her Autobiography entitled Kist Kist Jiwan.

2. NAAGPHAANS, Maithili Novel written by Dr. Shefalika Verma in 2004 and Translated into English by Dr. Rajiv Kumar Verma and Dr. Jaya Verma. Naagphaans is the story of Dhara, her perennial love for husband Simant who was obsessed with worldly life and comforts, had left Dhara and son Kadamba for some unknown destination in England. Naagphaans vividly portrays Dhara and Kadamba' search for Simant who was ultimately discovered by them. Naagphaans is a psycho-analytical story of woman's love and passion, male chauvinism, different shades of friendship and mother-son relationship. Naagphhans also successfully highlights the main facets of cultures and traditions of Eastern and Western world and establishes a fine balance between the two. For the first time, the Maithil readers get a fine idea of Mathil and British Culture contrast.
Naagphaans was published by Arushi Aditi Sanskriti Publication in 2004.
In 2017, Naagphaans in English was published by Mithilangan.

3. AAKHAR AAKHAR PREET is a letter based Memoir written by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published by Shekhar Prakashan, Patna in 2014. In this age of Globalisation and revolutionary changes in the means of communication leading to decreasing importance of letters, this work refreshes the reader's memory not only about the letters being most valuable part of human life but also a powerful means of unifying not only the family, the individuals but their love, emotions, happiness, sorrow. This work has two parts- one devoted to the literary letters and another the family letters. Through letters one gets the idea about the changing Mithila culture and tradition, the family relationship, the social norms and values, the position of women and the multi-faceted role played by them.

4. MOHPASH authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma is collection of stories portraying rainbow colours of human love, emotion , affection, sacrifice etc. through the actors representing Maithil tradition and culture. On the request of the readers, Mohpash was published by Mithilangan with some more stories added to it.

5. ARTHYUG authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma, first published in 2003 and re-published in 2016 by Shekhar Prakashan, Patna  due to its popularity and demand among the readers. The work exposes the existing materialistic social relationship and forces the readers to think in an analytical way for the establishment of a just and value based society. This work also provides a psycho- analytical panorama of socio-economic changes and its reflection in complex human nature.

6. YAYAWARI, a Travelogue was authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published by Bhawna Publication in 1995. It not only highlights the culture and tradition of different parts of India traveled by her but also portrays the faster journey undertaken by her thoughts, her mind and her insight.

7. VIPRALABDHA, a collection of poems of Dr. Shefalika Verma was published by Bhawna Prakashan in 1978.  Poems based on folk songs give a mystic and refreshing feelings to  the readers.

8. EKTA AAKASH, a collection of short stories authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published by Maithili Akademi, Patna delineates the heart-rendering travails of women, challenges faced by them in the patriarchal social set-up, longing for an utopian society leading to their empowerment.

9. THAHRE HUE PAL, collection of poems in Hindi authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published in 1993 by Bihar Granth Kutir reflects her fine attempt for a balance between imagination and reality which touches the soul of the readers.

10. SMRITI REKHA, a memoir based collection of short stories authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published by Maithili Akademi, Allahabad in 1978 reflects the emotional journey with kaleidoscopic  narration of the various facets of life, imbued with love and sacrifice, portraying the women in various role, attacking the social evils thereby trying to change the society.

11. MONAK CHAN SURUJ मोनक चान सुरुज

The work Monak Chan Suruj, the latest creation of Dr. Shefalika Verma known as the Mahadevi of Maithili reflects her passion for writing, love for suitable words, infinite imagination, keen observation and self-motivation. Having awarded with Sahitya Akademi Award in 2012 for her Autobiography entitled Kist Kist Jiwan, many thought it to be her last work. But she continued writing and after a few more works, she has come back with another great piece of work, a Reminiscent Autobiography entitled Monak Chan Suraj, published by Sri Shivendra Kumar on behalf of Karn Sewa Darbhanga Publication, Laheriasarai, Bihar in 2015 with Book design by Sri Manoj Kumar, presently in Sri Lanka.

The very title Monak Chan Suruj reflects the imagination beyond. This work is not only a travelogue, a memoir, an autobiography but a vision beyond mental boundaries. The present work contains articles such as Jiwan-Drist ‘Monak Chan Suruj, Yatra Mithila Dham se Kashmir Dhari, Puran Tihrik Dard Dekhal-Bhogal, Sparrow, Akhir Ke Chhal, Monak Ijot, Cactusak Dansh, Anhar Ijot, Mitratak Kanti, Udas Rakhi, indradhanushi Mahanagar Dilli, Hamar Gam Bargam, Videsh me Mithila Desh etc. etc.

These articles reflect her unending love for travel to various places in India and outside but her heart always revolves round Mithila Dham. Monak Chan Suruj depicts finer outlines of culture ranging from Kashmir to Orissa and Tata, from Mumbai to Tihri in Uttarakhand, from Punjab to Delhi, from North- East to Allahabad and from England to Authors’ native village Bargaon and Saharsa  of  Kosi Anchal ..

This work is a psycho-socio analysis of vast panorama of simple and complex relationship, an in-depth analysis of history and progress, a challenge to the social evils and patriarchic domination, a call for gender equality. It also talks about devastating nature of river Kosi.
The present work represents the rich Culture of Mithila in entirety. In this age of technological change and globalization, this work must be studied by all and sundry to achieve a fine balance between the cultures based on the theme Continuity and Change .....

12. MADHUGANDHI BASAT authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published by Drishti the Vision in 2005 analyses the existing social condition in most lucid manner.


13. BHAWANJALI, mainly a prose-song authored by Dr. Shefalika Verma and published by Bhasha Prakashan in 1996 is compared with Tagore's Geetanjali as it contains soulful, spiritual and philosophical songs encompassing emotion, tenderness, peace both at micro and macro level.

14. AHIN TA KAHNE RAHI: Published by Navarambh, Patna, 2017, Released in England and Delhi is a collection of Maithili Poems by Shefalika Verma. It contains total 110 poems such as Prerna Shefalika, Sarita Shefalika, Ahin Ta  Kahne Chalhun, Shefalika, Anarkali, Hamar Mai, He Amarnath, Kanyadan, Narik Vyatha Katha, Satyak Khoj,Kari Suruj, Mithila Raj, Nepal, Itihas Hamar, Vidhata, Mahakavya etc. If one wants to know about Shefalika, one has to go through all 110 poems contained in this collection. The poems represent the rainbow like thoughts dealing with from abstract to mundane, from dream to reality, urge for gender equality and women empowerment. To conclude, a few sentences from the first poem of the collection:

We human beings are different from animals since we have a culture and no materialistic advancement can give us our identity in the manner culture gives to us. To highlight the importance of Mithila culture and to discuss the issues in preservation of the regional heritage a dedicated seminar was conducted in Darbhanga recently. 

At Laxmishwar Singh Musueum, Darbhanga a seminar was organised by the department of Art, Culture and Youth affairs of Govt of Bihar. It was inaugurated by Dr. Chandra Shekhar Singh, DM of Darbhanga.

Dr. Manzar Suleman revealed that Darbhanga is named after a person Darbhangi Khan. Mithila is also known for it's distinguished 'daaha' and embroidery. 

Manisha Jha of Madhubani Art Centre, New Delhi presented the evolution of Mithila paintings in its historical perspective.

Diwesh kumar Singh from Nepal stated that Simrongarh had been the capital of Mithila in past. Large number of valuable statues carved on stones have been found from the piles and those need to be conserved.

Dr. Vidya Nath Jha said that Mithila also played important role in bringing forth renaissance in India. An area called 'Sarlahi' has been very important in view of excavation of statues of Buddha age (8th century). The zone of Mithila is of "mitti, paani aur hawa" the soil, water and air. The need of hour is to make efforts to stop the deformation of our culture.

Dr. Bhogendra Jha from Varanasi stressed upon cataloging while Dr. Ratneshwar Mishra  talked  about some similarities of Mithila with Greek culture. 

The seminar was presided by Usha Kiran Khan who said that Mithila has never been a belligerent state and is known for its peaceful ambiance. The woman in particular have been the promoter of Mithila Art. We have to pay attention to the different style of Mithila  paintings made by the scheduled caste people in Mithila. They are still to be documented. The Sujani and embroidery designs collected in 1938 by Kamala Devi Chattoopadhyay from Panichobh village of Mithila are preserved in the museum of Mumbai. 

Dr. Bhimnath Jha, Dr. Shrawan Kumar Chaudhary, Bimla Dutt, Ganapati Nath Jha, Rajnath Mishra, Prof. Prabhash Chandra Jha, Prof Dharmendra Kumar, Prof. Ayodhya Nath Jha, Bhairab Lal Das, Chandra Mohan Jha, Phool Chandra Jha Raman, Murari Jha and others were present on the occasion.

The curator of the museum Shiva Kumar Mishra anchored the program and Dr. Chandra Prakash proposed the vote of thanks to the speakers and the audience.

A special article on the Republic Day / Abhik Dasgupta

Picking up the baton


Wishing all a very happy Republic Day!

Since our childhood we are led to believe that certain struggles and sacrifices are intrinsic to a particular era or against some particular people, race, colour, governance. We are a witness to continuous ennobling of martyrs by media and different political parties tickling our emotions,  glorifying some and condemning others. It is as if we have come out of a dark phase and only looking back at time like watching a movie or 'Saas-bahoo' soap on TV with tears and pent up feelings of nationalism. After all these years some people have only turned into a few dates in our calendar, some days have only added to our list of holidays. The TV and radio increase their channels' TRP by discovering restaurants arousing our interests for places where our beloved leaders used to hangout, dine or hold their secret meetings. We watch with reverence in museums .. the dresses, the caps, the specs they wore, the revolvers they used, the bullets with which they were killed like our trendy dresses, perfumes and gadgets as if they are also commodities.

We love to flock at these places, take selfies. We take pride in being the descendants of people who have fought for a cause their entire lives,  those who have become stars now, expectant of wetting ourselves a little in the spotlights thrown on them  except that try how much hard as we might we fail to relate to those causes . Our feelings of nationalism get commercialized into earning crores of rupees and we remain content watching movies at multiplexes diving our hands into multi cuisine food at costly food outlets or better still sitting cosy in our homes sipping glasses of wine and sending patriotic messages to our friends from our trendy smartphones  enjoying just like other holidays.

Is this the freedom our leaders had laid their lives for? Is this the complete Independence our visionaries had struggled to bring into effect? When shall we realize that every age has causes of its own. What we need is to identify them. The war for Independence from several social and political maladies still rages on and it will continue to do so. The need of the hour is to set up the spark of truly determined people in our hearts again and again and never let it die. That is the only way they will continue to live out of our school text books glorifying a certain genre of philosophy desisting from a mere mention in political rallies to earn votes or a cool glass of sharbet passing down our throats which the owner of an eatery desperately tries to prove to have been the favourite of a certain freedom fighter to boost his sales.

Hoisting the tricolour singing national anthems or watching the republic day parade with elan on certain days of the year is not enough. Our duty towards remembering and paying homage to our martyrs, reformists, visionaries lie in taking the baton from their hands and continuing the war.

दिलीप कुमार रचित प्रथम कविता-संग्रह "अप-डाउन में फंसी जिंदगी" का लोकार्पण पटना में 25.1.2019 को सम्पन्न

बिना मिले साथ-साथ रहनेवाली पटरियों को समर्पित कविताएँ


सारी दुनिया में बदलाव का वाहक सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी सेक्टर बन चुका है । फिर भी शब्दों की ताकत हमेशा बनी रहेगी । हरिवंश की इन पंक्तियों से व्हाट्सएप्प और फेसबुक संदेशों की बाढ़ में भी शब्दों की शक्ति के अक्षुण्णता के महत्व को फिर से उजागर किया गया 

"अप-डाउन में फंसी जिंदगी" एक ऐसे प्रतिबद्ध साहित्यकार दिलीप कुमार की कृति है जो अप और डाउन रेलों के आवागमन से सम्बंधित उच्चस्तरीय प्रबंधन में व्यस्तता के बावजूद साहित्यकर्म को अपना सबसे प्रिय कर्म मानता है इस काव्य संग्रह का लोकार्पण राज्यसभा के उपसभापति सह वरिष्ठ पत्रकार हरिवंश तथा पूर्व मध्य रेल के महाप्रबंधक ललित चंद्र त्रिवेदी द्वारा महेंद्रू घाट स्थित रेलवे सभागार में किया गया 

लोकार्पण सत्र में हरिवंश ने कहा कि दिलीप कुमार की कविताएं समसामयिक परिस्थितियों से निकल कर कालातीत सच का बयान करती हैं ।  रेलवे के व्यस्त जीवन के बावजूद जो उन्होंने जो रचा है, वह संभावनाओं को जन्म देता है ।  बड़े-बड़े प्रबंधकीय डिग्री से लैस अधिकारियों द्वारा संचालित एनरॉन कंपनी  जब दिवालिया होने से नहीं बच पाई तो उसके कारणों की तलाश की गई ।  शोध में निष्कर्ष निकला कि बड़े-बड़े तनख्वाह पाने वाले अधिकारी संस्कृति और साहित्य से विमुक्त होते चले गए जो अंततः कंपनी की विफलता का कारण बना ।  जीवन के अनसुलझे प्रश्नों को सुलझाने का काम कविता ही करती है। 

हरिवंश ने कहा कि सभ्यताओं, संस्कृतियों और राष्ट्रों का निर्माण साहित्यकारों और कवियों द्वारा किया जाता है । साहित्य के क्षेत्र में भी कविता का विशेष महत्व है । समाज को समझने के लिए सोशलिस्टों की रचनाओं को पढ़ना जरूरी होता है । लेकिन यदि उस समय की प्रतिनिधि रचनाओं को पढ़ लिया जाए तो फिर समाज शास्त्रियों के विचारों को पढ़ना जरूरी नहीं रह जाता । जैसे फणीश्वर नाथ रेणू के मैला आंचल, शिवप्रसाद सिंह के अलग अलग वैतरणी, श्रीलाल शुक्ल के राग दरबारी और राही मासूम रजा के आधा गांव को पढ़ने के बाद 60 से 70 के दशक के सामाजिक, राजनीतिक परिदृश्य को पूरी तरह से समझा जा सकता है कि उस समय की मन:स्थिति कैसी थी । 

दिलीप कुमार ने अपने कविता संकलन को जीवन की उन पटरियों को समर्पित किया है जो साथ चलती हैं, कभी ना मिलने के लिए । हम सबकी जिंदगी का फलसफा भी ऐसा ही है । इस संकलन की गई रचनाओं में जिंदगी की फिलॉसफी और बड़े सवालों को सहज शब्दों में संप्रेषित किया गया है । संकलन की कविता छलिया क्रांति का उदाहरण देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि क्रांति के बाद जो सिंहासन पर बैठते हैं, उनका चेहरा पहले के शासकों जैसा ही क्रूर रहा । इससे पहले लोक गायिका नीतू कुमारी नवगीत ने पुष्पगुच्छ देकर सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत किया।

समारोह के विशिष्ट अतिथि पूर्व मध्य रेल के महाप्रबंधक ललित चंद्र त्रिवेदी ने कहा कि रेलवे द्वारा साहित्यिक-सांस्कृतिक प्रतिभाओं को बढ़ाने का काम किया जाता है । दिलीप कुमार को उनके नए कविता संकलन के लिए बधाई देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि संकलन की कई कविताओं में रेल कर्मियों के दर्द को उकेरा गया है । उन्होंने रेलवे की कार्यप्रणाली और रेल संरक्षा को बढ़ावा देने वाली कविताओं के संकलन के प्रकाशन का सुझाव दिया । कार्यक्रम का संचालन पूर्व मध्य रेल के मुख्य कार्मिक अधिकारी (आई आर) सुरेश चंद्र श्रीवास्तव ने किया  ।

 आयोजन के द्वितीय सत्र में कवि सम्मेलन का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें प्रभात सरसिज,अनिल विभाकर, राजकिशोर राजन, कुमार रजत, सिद्धेश्वर, अमलेन्दु अस्थाना, भरत सिंह भारती, समीर परिमल, श्वेता शेखर, दिलीप कुमार आदि ने अपनी कविताओं का पाठ किया ।

धन्यवाद ज्ञापन बिहार के प्रसिद्ध लोक गायिका डॉ नीतू कुमारी नवगीत ने किया ।

Kala Jagaran staged "Chand tukde aurat" in Patna on 19.1.2019

The fight of 'bahu' for an individual identity 



A tinkle on your subconscious chord  jubilates you in a jiffy when applauds pours in to your ears but the very next moment you feel dazed when the laudation is fitted into a mould of someone else. You are you and not he or she. People often forget this simple but vital fact.

Madhu Sharma is a darling of her in-laws and all express their respective relational liking in perfectly proper perspective and still Madhu feels distraught.  General domestic issues erupt in day to day life and her adjustment with in-laws is affected adversely.

In next scene she is in a court as an advocate pleading in favour of the daughter-in-law while all of her in-laws stand for their defense. Ultimately it is concluded that a woman should be looked upon in her entirety and not as a set of  piecemeal merits.

As a script writer Girish Bakhshi has raised a very delicate issue rife in every household. If the parents-in-law, husband and all in-laws pay attention to it the highly cherished and extremely frail domestic harmony can be restored in every family.

The actors were performing as per the director who allowed little elbow room for them. Sunita Bharti, Amir Haque, Mithilelsh Kr Sinha, Ragini Sinha, Sumitra Singh, Nitish Kr, Dr. Shankar Suman, Anupam Kr, Anurag Kr were on stage. The team of dancers consisted of Manu, Vandana, Shilpi and Muskan.

Set design was perfect giving a real inside view of a cultured family and so was the costumes and make-up. The song of "Ai meri johre-zabin, tu abhi tak hai hansi" came in handy creating a fine outset of the show. Lalit Srivastava (music), Rina Kumari (Costume), Upendra Kr (make-up & Sound control). Rajkumar Verma (lights) and Sunil Kr (Stage-design) gave their valuable inputs.

Suman Kumar is a good director and this was reflected in his calibration of the poses of the actors. The way of presentation consisted of flashbacks from the courtroom and it kept the viewers interested in the show.

The play came out successfully because of the ubiquity of the message.

सखी बहिनपा ग्रुप, नवी मुंबई के द्वारा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम और प्रदर्शनी 6.1.2019 को पनवेल, नवी मुंबई में संपन्न

भरतनाट्यम, सामूहिक गीत और नृत्य नाटिका से माहौल हुआ गुलजार  



विगत 6 जनवरी,2019 को खांदा कॉलोनीपनवेल में नवी मुंबई मैथिल समाज द्वारा हर वर्ष की तरह विद्यापति समारोह मनाया गयाजिसमें सखी बहिनपा ग्रुप मुंबई ने भी भाग लिया। सखी बहिनपा ग्रुप आरती झा का ब्रेन चाइल्ड है,जो उन्होंने एक फेसबुक ग्रुप के रुप में मात्र 300 सदस्यों के साथ शुरू किया था। वह अब  लगभग 18000 सदस्यों के साथ विश्व के विभिन्न देशों में फैल चुका है। इस समूह का मुख्य उद्देश्य मैथिल महिलाओं के दुख सुख को साझा करने और उनकी छिपी हुई प्रतिभा को निखारना है। 

इसी क्रम में इस  ग्रुप ने नवी मुंबई में अपनी संस्कृति की झलक दिखलाई। महाकवि विद्यापति की अमर रचना जय जय भैरवी असुर भयाउनिपशुपति भामिनी माया, सामूहिक गीत गाकर महाकवि और भगवती के प्रति श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। इस  गायिका मंडली  में - कंचन कंठसंध्या पाठकजया रानी,आशा पाठकनीलम लालसुषमा मिश्रामधुप्रकाशप्रियंका मिश्रासुलेखा झारौशनी रायदीक्षा झा आदि सखियां थीं। प्रियंका मिश्रा की सुपुत्री सुश्री शुचि मिश्रा ने भरतनाट्यम नृत्य प्रस्तुत किया। रेखा चौधरी एवं सखियों ने परिछन गीत से सुनाया और नृत्य नाटिका प्रस्तुत की। इन सभी  कार्यक्रमों ने दर्शकों का मन मोह लिया।

सखी-बहिनपा मिथिलानी समुह के लक्ष्य को दर्शाया कंचन कंठ ने उसके बैनर पर "जाति-पांति पुछैथ नहि कोईमैथिली बाजथि से मैथिल होई"। उन्होंने अपनी कला को प्रदर्शित करने के लिए मैथिल ललना के कोना नाम से हस्तकला और पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी लगाई। हस्तकला में कंचन कंठ की स्वनिर्मित सिंधी कढ़ाई वाली आकर्षक कुर्तियां और बेडशीट वगैरह थींतो बुकस्टॉल पर मैथिली के मूर्धन्य विद्वान एवं साहित्यकार महाकवि पंडित लाल दास की कृतियां थीं। 

डॉ नित्यानंद लाल दास की साहित्य अकादेमी पुरस्कृत प्रज्जवलित प्रज्ञा एवं अन्य पुस्तकें अग्नि के पांखितिरुक्कुरलभारत क संविधानराधाकृष्ण चौधरीनैका बनिजारा का अंग्रेजी अनुवाद के साथ साथ चंदना दत्त सखी की पुस्तक गंगा स्नान ने खूब धूम मचाई। आयोजक संस्था के अनुसार विद्यापति समारोह में पहली बार इस प्रदर्शनी से लोगों को हर्षमिश्रित आश्चर्य हुआ और उनकी प्रतिक्रिया काफ़ी उत्साहवर्धक थी।
